Mapia® URBANISM is a software product consisting of a set of tools, processes, and GIS methodologies developed jointly by Infraplan and OUA-Gamma that optimize and enhance the production, maintenance, and querying of urban and heritage data in an integrated manner within a single environment.

The Mapia platform includes tools for loading and managing data as well as tools for visualizing or publishing maps, either through an integrated viewer, via API, or using direct connections to data from desktop GIS applications (e.g., QGIS). The solution consisted of the following components:

  • Administrator module: a web application for maintaining, editing, querying, and exploiting all the data managed by the application.
  • Validation and loading module: tools and processes for validating and loading graphic data into the GIS database.
  • Viewer module: web mapping viewer to query all available data.
  • APIs: REST APIs to connect third-party services to the application.

The Mapia® URBANISM platform offers the following main functionalities:

  • Production and maintenance of GIS data for urban planning and management instruments.
  • Production and maintenance of GIS data linked to land parcels and buildings.
  • Visualization and mapping of GIS data.
  • Customizable data model adaptable to the needs and specifications of the client.
  • Direct connection to QGIS to exploit the data and create maps.
